Integrating WalletConnect: seamless payment experiences using the Algorand Wallet
Initially we integrated with the standard Algorand Wallet app through a simple QRCode or deeplink. This made it possible to quickly built the integration between Andpay and the Algorand Wallet app without much hassle.
However, looking further we had to move the simple integration to the more advanced WalletConnect Protocol. Which brings full transaction signing to the Andpay ecosystem. This will make it possible to start handling more complex transactions through Andpay, such as Smart Contracts.
Simple & Secure
Through WalletConnect you can easily connect the Algorand Wallet app with Andpay by scanning a specific QR Code. You’ll then automatically be asked in your wallet app to pick a wallet to connect. After the connection has been established, you’ll automatically see the transaction popping up on your screen.
Now you can review the transaction before signing it. Once approved, the transaction will be send to the blockchain and finalised within 4.5 seconds. You’ll automatically see the payment screen on Andpay.io transition to a green checkmark, which shows that your transaction has successfully been send. Using WalletConnect — your private keys will never leave your device. It’s very secure and simple.
