Trigger follow-up actions after paying with Algo via Webhook support

It was a bit quiet from our side for a week as we’ve been crunching on a couple of quite important features for the ecosystem underneath &pay. One of the first big things we just launched is webhook support for 3rd party integrators.

Perform real-world actions after payment

One of the reddit users within the AlgorandOfficial community commented on our first release post with a real-world example of using Algorand within a fun fair.

Let’s say I run a fun fair and have 10 different attractions with their unique payment requests (1) I would want to track the usage of the various attractions.
The callback would activate an IoT enabled device such as a turnstile (2)

Now with webhook support you’d be able to receive notifications upon payments, which in your turn can trigger follow-up actions. Could be a turnstile / gate being opened, but also a confirmation message to your e-commerce store to start shipping the product to the consumer.

With webhooks there are endless opportunities for 3rd party integrators and developers to integrate &pay and payment support for Algorand immediately in their day-to-day products.

Interested in handling payments via &pay on the Algorand blockchain? Signup for your own payment account (free), press on the top-right icon and select API Tokens. Over there you can submit your own webhook url which will receive events once new payments have been created or a payment has been made by a customer.
